Tech Mahindra and Microsoft have announced a strategic collaboration to enable cloud-powered 5G core network modernization for telecom operators worldwide.
The 5G core network transformation will assist telecom operators in developing 5G core use cases and meeting the growing technological (Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), IoT (Internet of Things), and edge computing) requirements of their customers. It will also allow them to modernise, optimise, and secure business operations, as well as develop green networks at lower costs and faster time to market.
As part of the collaboration, Tech Mahindra will provide telecom operators with talent expertise, comprehensive solutions, and managed services offerings such as “Network Cloudification as a Service” and AIOps for their 5G Core networks. The modernization of network core systems and operations enabled by AIOps will allow operators to quickly and easily deploy and manage their 5G Core networks while leveraging the power of the cloud to deliver new and innovative services to their customers. AIOps will assist operators in combining big data and machine learning to automate network operations processes such as event correlation and anomaly detection, as well as predicting fault and performance issues, enabling self-serving network operations.
Tech Mahindra’s Sustainability solution iSustain will use the Microsoft cloud to measure and monitor KPIs across all three aspects of E, S, and G. iSustain will assist network operators in addressing the challenge of measuring and reducing carbon emissions from networks while meeting the demands of numerous energy-intensive digital technologies ranging from AR / VR to IoT. Furthermore, Tech Mahindra will strengthen the operator’s network and operations with SenTindra, a cloud-based virtual security operations centre built on Microsoft Sentinel. SenTindra’s platform provides over 300 scenarios and workflows to support telecom operators’ cloud visibility, monitoring, and orchestration needs, ensuring network security and uptime.
The collaboration is in line with Tech Mahindra’s NEXT.NOWYM framework, which aims to improve the ‘Human Centric Experience.’ Tech Mahindra invests in emerging technologies and solutions that enable digital transformation and meet the changing needs of customers.
